Julianne Evans

Life, Career & Leadership Coach

About

If you're navigating a significant change in your life, career, or leadership journey, you're not alone.

Perhaps you're facing a career transition, stepping into a leadership role, preparing for retirement, dealing with loss, feeling overwhelmed, or simply wondering what comes next. These are often the moments when having space to think, reflect and gain clarity can make all the difference.

My role is not to tell you what to do. My role is to walk alongside you, ask thoughtful questions, listen deeply, and help you uncover the answers that are right for you.

I bring more than 30 years of experience leading people, complex operations and major programs, including a decade in senior executive roles within the public sector. What shapes my perspective, however, is that I began my career at an entry level and worked my way through many different roles before becoming an executive. I've experienced organisations from multiple viewpoints and understand both the opportunities and challenges people encounter at different stages of their working lives.

Throughout my career, I have seen leadership that inspires people to thrive and leadership that leaves people feeling unheard and undervalued. Those experiences taught me the importance of authenticity, integrity, empathy and self-awareness—not only in leadership, but in life.

Today, I work with people navigating life, career and leadership transitions. Whether you're seeking greater confidence, clarity, purpose or direction, I offer a calm, practical and supportive space to explore what matters most and identify meaningful next steps.

I also enjoy supporting people who are seeking to enter or progress within the public sector, drawing on many years of experience recruiting, developing and leading people across a wide range of roles and levels.

Alongside my professional experience, I hold a Cert IV in Life Coaching Practice, an MBA (HR & Public Sector Management), and a Bachelor of Administrative Leadership.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative process that helps you gain clarity, explore possibilities, and take meaningful action towards your goals.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
If you're feeling stuck, facing a challenge, navigating a transition, or seeking greater clarity and confidence, coaching may be helpful. A Free Discovery Call is a great place to start.
What can coaching help with?
Coaching can support you in areas such as life transitions, career development, confidence, leadership, stress and overwhelm, decision-making, wellbeing, and finding greater purpose and direction.
Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?
Not at all. Many people come to coaching knowing something needs to change but aren't yet sure what that looks like. Together, we'll explore what's most important and identify the best path forward.
What's the difference between a Discovery Call, Clarity Session, and Coaching Journey?
The Discovery Call is a complimentary introductory conversation. The Clarity Session is a focused one-off coaching session. The Coaching Journey provides ongoing support through a series of coaching conversations designed to create lasting change.
Is coaching the same as counselling or therapy?
Coaching focuses on the present and future, helping you move towards your goals through increased awareness and action. It is not therapy, counselling, or a mental health service.
If you're unsure whether coaching is the right type of support for your situation, that's okay. We can discuss this during a Free Discovery Call. I will always be open about what coaching can and can't help with and, where appropriate, suggest other sources of support that may be a better fit for your needs.

Purpose
This Scope of Practice outlines the boundaries, responsibilities, and ethical foundations of my coaching work. It clarifies what clients can expect from me as a professional coach and what falls outside the scope of coaching. This supports transparency, safety, and a shared understanding of our work together.
What Coaching Is
Coaching is a collaborative, future‑focused, strengths‑based process designed to support clarity, insight, decision‑making, and meaningful action. My role is to:
  • ask thoughtful, reflective questions
  • help you explore perspectives, patterns, and possibilities
  • support you to identify your own goals, values, and next steps
  • hold a steady, non‑judgemental space for reflection and growth
  • offer tools, frameworks, and practices that align with your needs
  • support accountability in a compassionate, human way
Coaching is not about giving advice, fixing problems, or directing your choices. You remain the expert in your own life.
What Coaching Is Not
Coaching is not:
  • counselling
  • psychotherapy
  • mental health treatment
  • crisis support
  • clinical assessment
  • medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice
Coaching does not diagnose, treat, or manage mental health conditions. It does not replace the care of a psychologist, counsellor, psychiatrist, GP, or other qualified health professional.
If at any time your needs fall outside the scope of coaching, I will discuss this with you and may recommend referral to an appropriate professional.
My Role as Your Coach
As a coach, I commit to:
  • maintaining a safe, respectful, and confidential space
  • working within my training, experience, and professional boundaries
  • practising ethically and responsibly
  • being transparent about my qualifications and limitations
  • supporting your autonomy, agency, and decision‑making
  • offering tools and reflections that align with your goals
  • referring you to other professionals when appropriate
I hold a Cert IV in Life Coaching Practice from the Life Coaching Institute (Aust) Pty Ltd and I work within the ethical expectations of non‑clinical, values‑led coaching.
Your Role as the Client
Clients are responsible for:
  • bringing topics, goals, or areas of focus to sessions
  • making their own decisions and taking action
  • communicating openly about needs, boundaries, or concerns
  • seeking appropriate professional support when needed
  • informing me if they are receiving other support (e.g., therapy) that may interact with coaching
Coaching works best when approached with honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to explore.
Confidentiality and Boundaries
All coaching conversations are confidential, with the following exceptions:
  • risk of harm to yourself or others
  • legal obligations (e.g., subpoena)
  • explicit consent from you to share information
I do not record sessions unless mutually agreed. I do not share client information with third parties without consent.
Referrals and Safety
If at any point it becomes clear that your needs would be better supported by a mental health professional, medical practitioner, or other specialist, I will discuss this with you and may recommend referral. Coaching can complement therapeutic or clinical support but does not replace it.
Ethical Practice
I am committed to:
  • maintaining professional boundaries
  • practising within my competence
  • ongoing learning and reflective practice
  • respecting your autonomy, dignity, and lived experience
  • creating a safe, inclusive, and non‑judgemental environment
